Kylee Zempel is a freelance writer based in Washington D.C. She currently works on the magazine team at the Washington Examiner. Her bylines include National Geographic, Lone Conservative, and Consumers’ Research, where she previously wrote on issues related to healthcare, finance, energy, and technology. Formerly a program advisor for the Institute on Political Journalism with The Fund for American Studies, she holds a BA in Communication Arts, Public Speaking and an AS in Criminal Justice. Other previous experience included time at Radio America and in Wisconsin state government. In addition to politics and public speaking, she enjoys acting and directing, outdoor sports, running, art, coffee culture, and news consumption.
